Requirement 3: ultra-high temperature grade of inuslation material​​​

As contacts can be soldered with non-lead solder wires and operation temperature is over 400℃, heat accumulates within the insulator quickly and causes possible melt and deformation. Therefore, extra heat resistant material has to be used.

S6 series military push-pull connectors are widely used in single soldier systems. GPS or tactical communications for their excellent features like small sizes, EMC capability and environment ruggedness.  We set hands on development work upon request of an overseas customer, who imposed following strict requirements.​

Requirement 4: Aesthetically pleasing, and no severe wear-down after many cycles of operation.

Requirement 1: over 5,000 cycles of insertion and extraction

After 5,000 cycles of operation, the locking mechanism shall stil be workable. There should be enough gold plating remained on contacts and increase of contact resistance should be within limit.

S6 Military Push-pull Connectors

Each component has to be accurate in dimensions, of top surface quality and be assembled together carefully. Plating and printing has to be very fast and endurable.

Requirement 2: insertion and extraction forces should be well-controlled​​​​

No matter mating with our own connectors or cross mating with other brands, connectors have to match smoothly with insertion and extraction forces controlled within a certain range consistently.

These connectors are like top brand watches, precise and complex. Development work was full  with difficulties and impediments.  Product drawings, tooling and fixtures were upgraded from time to time. Materials and processses were tested many times. We fumbled the way ahead to get more knowledge about the know-how.

It took us 3 years to develop and improve on these connectors.  After quite some turns of sample submittance and engineering changes, finally we managed to deliver qualified samples and got customer approval.
